Let It Be

“When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me… speaking words of wisdom…Let it be.” Beatles…

This line from the famous Beatles tune always brings peace to my heart. It reminds me of the sweet energy that comes from letting go. Ever been on a merry-go-round? In the moments of abandon while spinning and flying on the merry-go-round, a person can feel free simply by letting go. This concept seems impossible when one is faced with a deadline, is waiting for important results to come in, or an important decision. Often we hold tight to the very thing that we think we must have. This all-encompassing grip restricts vision and creativity, impeding progress. Release the death grip.

Freedom and creative ideas flow when we are open and relaxed. Restrictions offer us narrow tunnels. Instead, open your options and allow yourself to let go of control. There is always more than one solution to a problem or a situation.

For one day try to incorporate new ideas into your life. Apply the perspective of an elder, husband, wife, boss, even a child. Just let go for a few moments. I am suggesting you incorporate new ways of looking at your problem. Try them on for size, kick them around inside your mind, and let go of stubborn ego based focus.

Letting go of a situation that is perceived as a problem, can bring new answers. When we surrender the old pattern, new energy and motivation sets a new direction. Now you’re on the merry-go-round, of new approaches bringing in a fresh perspective. Try this a time or two when you are in times of trouble, or simply “stuck” without a clear solution. Perhaps you will hear the words of wisdom…. “Let it be.”
