Best practice -when life isn’t going your way.
Some days are more difficult than others. In my life today, I am grateful to have more typical easy flowing days than the challenging draining days of my youth. Perhaps the practice of gratitude has helped me to view challenges differently than when I was a judgmental teenager.
When I was sixteen years old, my mother was always wrong. Each day can be a jungle to navigate, however my path in life feels lighter, easier and more manageable since I started to appreciate the “wonder” in life. Perhaps my mother has always been wise, but I didn’t notice it until I had my own children and started to seek her advice. Having managed to raise five children successfully, my sweet amazing mother had a pocket full of great ideas on the subject. Filled with gratitude for her suggestions, I found my mother to be a great advisor on marriage, balancing household and career as well as enjoying life’s many challenges.
Oh the blessings of gratitude. It seems miraculous to be able to shift and choose to see life more positively. Regularly, I declare three gratitudes before falling asleep at night, oftentimes many more as I drift off to sleep. As a result of my growing attention to what is “right” with the world, I am distinctly honored with more to be grateful for. A constant flow of blessings, abundance and prosperity has been the result of honoring the practice of gratitude.
